Supplemental Assistance Nutrition Program (SNAP)

Many people are eligible to receive SNAP benefits (also known as food stamps). To receive SNAP, paperwork needs to be completed. Case Managers at Mission of Love Charities assist people with the necessary forms so they can apply for and utilize SNAP benefits. SNAP funds can be spent at the grocery store, making it a great method of stocking up on food for a household – on a monthly or weekly basis. Case Managers are here to assist with SNAP applications. Individuals can call 301-333-4440 to set up a meeting or applications can even be completed by telephone.

Behavioral Health

Behavioral and Mental Health are pressing issues for homeless individuals. By offering behavioral and mental health services to participants, many of the stresses of homelessness can be examined and treated accurately by healthcare professionals. By treating foundational mental and behavioral health issues, homeless individuals find a unique perspective of their problems, and are offered solutions to address pressing issues. Mission of Love Charities partners with DXT Therapeutic Services to provide individual mental health counseling services on a weekly basis at our facility. Reinforcing positive mental health and behavior patterns is a critical to ministering to the needs of the homeless population.
